There’s a good reason why this via ferrata is also known as the ‘Panorama Via Ferrata’: on one side lies the urban landscape of Innsbruck, on the other the wild Karwendel Mountains – and right in the middle, you.
From the Seegrube across to the Frau-Hitt-Sattel, the Innsbruck Via Ferrata/Iron Way offers a ridge crossing in a class of its own. If the distance of the entire route is too long for you, you can descend halfway via the Langen Sattel back down to the Höttinger Alpine Pasture.
Almost always following the ridge and always high, high above the Stanzer Valley: the Arlberg Via Ferrata/Iron Way was, alongside the Martinswand Via Ferrata/Iron Way, the first Via Ferrata/Iron Way in Tyrol’s Arlberg region. The route is correspondingly spectacular and logical – and correspondingly alpine, challenging and strenuous.
You wind your way along the ridge for almost three kilometres, from the Knoppenjochspitze to the Weißschrofenspitze. Even the descent from the Weißschrofenspitze is still gruelling. For those up to the challenge: ridge climbing at its finest.
From Lake Reschen to the Goldseen: the Goldweg really does offer the most stunning views – as well as perfect rock climbing.
A long-standing classic, this via ferrata runs almost entirely along the ridge, leading directly to the Bergkastelspitze (2,912 m) in theTirolean Oberland. Alpine experience, sure-footedness and a good dose of strength are required.
The via ferrata up to the Marokka (2,001 m) – a secondary summit of the Henne (2,078 m); the mountains here all have such lovely names – is a short but delightful climb in magnificent surroundings.
A lovely ridge walk in the upper section, and the Henne immediately inspires you to tackle another summit. The descent takes you past the wonderfully situated Wildseeloderhaus: all in all, a mountain day in a class of its own. To the Marokka Via Ferrata/Iron Way.
2,929 metres: The Flimspitze falls just short of the 3,000-metre mark, yet it is still the highest peak in the Ischgl area. The Flimspitze Via Ferrata/Iron Way is easily accessible from the Top station of the Flimjochbahn.
Experienced Via Ferrata/Iron Way climbers can also combine it with the Greitspitz Via Ferrata/Iron Way.
