Tannheimer Valley

Off to ‘Europe’s most beautiful high valley’

The Tannheimer Valley in northern Tyrol is renowned for its peaks, such as the Gimpel, Hochwiesler and Rote Flüh, offering routes of all Levels of Difficulty, as well as some of Tyrol’s most beautiful Via Ferrata/Iron Ways.

Numerous sport climbing routes, multi-pitch routes, two waterfalls for Ice Climbing and a high ropes course attract climbing enthusiasts to the Tannheimer Valley. And this has been the case for a very long time, as climbing has a long tradition here: several routes were first established on the south-facing walls, which rise to heights of up to 200 metres, as early as 1900. Many of the old routes have since been refurbished, yet the Tannheimer Valley still offers climbing with a distinctly alpine feel. Nuts and ‘friends’ are just as much a part of your climbing harness here as your ‘chalk bag’.
