Multi-pitch routes around Kufstein - a delight for enduring climbers

Kufsteinerland, the region around the town of Kufstein in the Tyrolean lowlands, is considered the gateway to the Tyrolean Alps. And if you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can hike through the idyllic Kaisertal valley or take the Kaiserlift directly from Kufstein to the Kaiser mountains. Not in the mood for rocks?   • Sparchen climbing garden
    This extremely challenging climbing area is a real must for every experienced Sport climbing enthusiast. The Sparchen climbing garden, located behind the Schotterwerk in Kufstein, is one of the historic climbing gardens in Tyrol and is one of the nuclei of Tyrolean sport climbing. Here you will find legendary routes such as "Tequila", the first 8a route in Tyrol, "Il piccolo orso", "Metallica" and "Zauberlehrling". The almost 200 m high wall with its extremely difficult routes is criss-crossed by 2 exposed multi-pitch routes. Both routes have a difficulty level of 8. Sparchen is ideal for climbing due to its shady and sheltered location, especially on very warm days, but also in the rain.
  • Climbing garden near Kaindlhütte
    The north faces of the Scheffauer and Zettenkaiser offer a variety of climbing routes of varying degrees of difficulty, most of which are quite long at over 10 pitches. Below the Widauersteig, there are several 5-pitch alpine sport climbing routes. From Kufstein, you can take the Kaiserlift up to the Kaindlhütte in around 1 hour. As some of the routes are only sparsely secured, it is advisable to take sufficient safety equipment with you.
  • Multerkarwand
    A climbing garden with alpine flair, located at the foot of the Treffauer. In addition to several sport climbing routes, there are also 8 multi-pitch routes here. Situated at an altitude of 1,440 m, the Multerkarwand offers the perfect introduction to Alpine climbing. Approach takes approx. 1 to 1.5 hours. The starting point is the Gasthof Jägerwirt in Scheffau. It is also possible to reach the Wegscheid-Hochalm by mountain bike.
