Hahntennjoch / Anhalterhütte - Heiterwand
The beautiful high-alpine crag known as the Heiterwand is situated near the Anhalterhütte. The Heiterwand – strictly speaking, the northern cliffs of the Maldongrat, which rise to a height of around 600 metres – consists of a compact, steep rock face. The routes (some of which are multi-pitch) run through solid, pitted limestone.
Its north-facing exposure makes it ideal for the hot summer months.

The approach leads up the green ridge opposite the Anhalterhütte. Once you reach the first rock, there are signs indicating the direction towards the climbing sectors. From there, follow the base of the cliff as closely as possible to reach the routes. The Kurt sector is reached via a series of ledges… the start is marked with a short rope.
