Imst / Reithle
Fantastic climbing gem
Reithle is a fantastic climbing and bouldering area with conglomerate blocks up to 15 metres high. This small ‘climbing paradise’ is hidden in the forest, around a glade below the Obermarkter Alm. With around 60 routes ranging in difficulty from 3 to 8, it offers plenty for almost all climbing enthusiasts.
Due to the mostly shady exposure in the forest, climbing conditions are excellent from late spring to early autumn
There are two options for reaching Reithle:
1) Take the cable car to Untermarkter Alm:
Follow the forest path downhill towards Hoch-Imst. After a few minutes, a forest trail branches off to the left. Follow this trail to reach the stream and cross it at a power station. Keep following the trail until it crosses the hiking trail called ‘Opferstockweg’. Now keep going downhill until a forest path branches off to the right. Follow this path and you'll reach the upper blocks in a few metres. Total time required from the Alm: 25 minutes.
2) From the large car park in Hoch-Imst, follow the hiking trail towards "Teilwiesen":
Approximately 500 meters after crossing the bridge over the stream, turn left onto the hiking trail called ‘Opferstockweg’ towards Obermarkter Alm. The trail crosses a forest path twice. Follow the second forest path to the left and after a few meters you will reach the first boulders. Total time required from the large car park: 35 minutes.
At the large car park in Hochimst.
