The Kofnertal climbing garden is very multifaceted.
The upper sector is dominated by challenging, overhanging routes on the wall, which is up to 35 meters high, with some smooth rock (rather small holds). Only the rightmost part offers opportunities to top significantly “easier” routes. Thanks to its location, it is pleasantly cool in summer.
The “Kofnertal Unterer Sektor” area was created as a project by the Imst Unterstadt Sports Middle School. Werner Nothdurfter and his climbing students created a special climbing garden: all routes feature short distances between the bolts! The rock here is rougher and offers better grip. Special: the nearby stream can serve as a “refrigerator” for drinks in summer.
The climbing area was developed by the quartet of Werner Nothdurfter, Alexander Bubik, Kurt Bubik and Patti Rupprich.

From the upper parking lot, follow the forest path to the left of the small stream (yellow signs for the climbing garden) before passing the wildlife feeding station after about 200 meters. After another 200 meters, you will reach the wooden bridge that crosses the upper part of the Rosengartenschlucht. After 10 meters (information board), turn right into the Kofnertal. Follow the stream for about ten minutes, crossing a debris barrier using climbing clamps. Then continue a little further along the (dry) riverbed until you see the wonderful wall surrounded by trees on your right.

From the center of Imst (Sparkasse), head towards Hoch-Imst. At the roundabout near the lifts, continue to the rear/upper Sonneck parking lot.
