A beautiful via ferrata to the summit of the Steinplatte, built by the mountain rescue service of Waidring. This via ferrata has a few crisp passages, is continuously secured with clamps and rope and has in some cases slightly wider clamp distances. The natural rock conditions must be used. The variant "Knieschloderer" - difficulty D - is a bit more airy. A rope bridge brings you back to the normal route. The Schustagangl leads to the summit of the Steinplatte.
The start of the via ferrata can be reached either with the Bergbahnen Steinplatte via the Gamssteig (20 minutes) or via the toll road and Stallenalm and Grünwaldalm (1.5 h). The access is via the signposted path at the foot of the rock face.
Take the hiking trail from the top of the Steinplatte back either to the top station of the cable car, or further down to the toll road car park.
