When you hear of St. Anton am Arlberg and the surrounding mountains, skiing, pistes and winter sports often come to mind. However, the region also offers plenty of climbing possibilities for both beginners and experts in summer. The St. Anton outdoor region offers 73 sport climbing routes, 12 multi pitch routes, two climbing gyms, one high rope garden and two via ferratas. Here, you can also enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains such as the Lechtal Alps and Verwall.

  • Arlberger Klettersteig via ferrata:The Arlberger Klettersteig via ferrata leads high above the Stanzertal valley. It is an exhausting alpine route that leads past a ridge. There are several emergency exits for when you get on the 2.800m long route. In wind gaps and on Northern walls, you will pass snow fields until summer. This via ferrata is only recommended to children when they are properly secured and under the supervision of an experienced adult.
  • Arlberger Winterklettersteig via ferrata: The Arlberger Winterklettersteig via ferrata is very exciting due to its high alpine characteristics. You have to traverse ridges and climb up short walls while carrying ski touring shoes and skis. After having managed this challenge, you are rewarded with a divine, 1km long ski slope. Every experienced mountain lover who loves a challenge will love this magnificent, but demanding via ferrata. In case of icy conditions, you should be prepared with crampons and ice axes.
