The four different ascents make every via ferrata fan's heart leap for joy. The via ferrata "Erlebnissteig" is suitable for children from 10 years and is the ideal preparation for the other three via ferratas. At the top, the family is rewarded with a view towards Tyrol's highest glacier.
Erlebnissteig: The variant "Erlebnissteig" is suitable for newcomers and for those new to via ferratas in general. With the maximum difficulty level of B+ ("Bilanzierstation" ca. C), this via ferrata is ideally suitable for children and makes hungry for more thanks to its natural type of construction. (220m length)
Murmeltiersteig: The "Murmeltier"-variant becomes progressively more challenging and rewards you with climbing over granite. Where necessary, footholds are provided. However, you still get a lot of direct contact with the rock. This route is perfectly suitable for children from 10 years (perhaps with additional securing). Maximum level of difficulty is C on a scale from A to E. (330m length)
Gamssteig: The "Gamssteig"-variant rounds off the set of possibilities within the climbing park of the "Pitztaler Gletscher". With a maximum difficulty level of D-, in between the "Steinbock" and the "Murmeltier"-variant, it serves as an ideal preparation for the expert route, which is easily accessible via the "Bilanzierstation". (350m length)
Steinbocksteig: The right "Steinbock"-route is the one for experts. The greyish and reddish rock plates are all natural without any footholds. Its modernly built fun route is perfectly integrated in splendid rock formations and mostly goes up vertically in elegant zigzag ways. The maximum level of difficulty is D+ on a scale from A to E. (300m length)
From there you walk to the Gletscherstube and then follow the old trail towards the Braunschweiger Hut until the marked turning to the via verratas (on the left side of the trail). Approx. 1 h
You reach the starting point of the via ferrata in 20 minutes via the hiking path.
