The via ferrata was built in this beautiful environment which captivates with its fabulous routing through the walls at the Stuibenfall.
For children and beginners, footholds were attached. Hence, the outwards expanding key locations are manageable for children from 10 onwards and the via ferrata can be enjoyed as a family experience.
Right at the start, you cross the Stuibenfall on a rope bridge called Schleudergang (Spin Cycle). The path follows in serpentines through the forest to the first climbing part. Here you can get familiar with the safety techniques and practice the mounting with the via ferrata set.
The first traverse is easy. Then the route follows along a dihedral and over a steep edge you climb to the 'Gelbe Wand' (Yellow Wall). An exposed traverse is followed by the key location, where muscle power and courage are requested due to the rock expanding outwards.
The perspective then changes at the resting point. Up to now, you looked out of the valley but now the waterfall becomes more prominent.
You can take a rest on a bench underneath a rock shelter and simply enjoy the scenery.
Now again a wall has to be traversed. Then you get the view of the whole Stuibenfall and you will be amazed by the sheer power of the thundering water masses going down the valley.
The upper rope bridge requires a dance over the boisterously waterfall. The challenge for experts. Right to the waterfall, the last meters to the exit at the suspension bridge are done quickly. Staying on the left side of the water, there is even an easier way to comfortably get to the exit at the suspension bridge.

Coming from the motorway A12 exit at Ötztal. Coming from the Fernpass or from Innsbruck drive towards the Ötztal. In the Ötztal drive until Umhausen and from there to Niederthai to the Ötzi-Dorf. Parking possibility. Then follow the trail to the Stuibenfall. At the first resting point, the entry point is to be found across the rope bridge.
