Adler Via Ferrata (Karkopf)

The Adlerklettersteig runs in the area of the Karkopf east ridge and partly in the south flank of the Karkopf and leads up to the summit plateau of Karkopf 2469 m. A beautiful, varied and long ascent, where difficult and airy climbing sections in best Wetterstein limestone alternate with easy ridge passages. In difficult places there are additional hooks to secure descendants with a rope. Refreshment and Overnight accommodation is available at the Neue Alplhütte, www.alplhuette.com.

Leave the Inntal motorway A 12 Kufstein-Landeck at the Telfs West exit. At the roundabout drive in the direction of Mieming (B 189). Drive through the tunnel to the next roundabout, there turn into Niedere Munde Straße and continue until the junction (right) Sonnensiedlung. Go past the gravel pit and up through hairpin bends to the next turn-off, here turn right to Hinterbergstraße. Follow this road to the left to Gasthaus Lehen. Pass the inn on the right until the end the asphalt road. Continue on the gravel road for 1 km in the direction of Strassberg until you reach the barrier (parking lot). Follow the forest path to the Strassberghaus 1191 m. From there follow the path towards Hohe Munde follow the road until the last serpentine 1938 m before the Niedere Munde (saddle) Turn left here (red eagle mark) branch off and go up to the entrance at a board. Or from the Neue Alplhütte via the Hintereggensteig to Niedere Munde.

From the summit on the ridge back to the branch of the normal path and on this down to the Neue Alplhütte or the Strassberghaus.
