The area stays cool - even on hot summer days.

Safe on rock

The Achensee region offers many via ferratas in all difficulty levels. You can either climb up to five mountain peaks through breathtaking landscapes or choose to take a more chilled via ferrata. The Achensee region has something for everyone!

  • 5 mountain peaks via ferratas: At an altitude level of over 2.000m, the five via ferratas Spieljoch, Haidachstellwand, Hochiss, Rosskopf and Seekarlspitze lead through an imposing mountain panorama up to the mountain peak. The length of each via ferrata varies between 180 and 450m and a duration between 3 and 5 hours. If you are lucky, you might discover some edelweiss on the Rosskopf via ferrata!
  • Brudertunnel via ferrata: The Brudertunnel via ferrata is 250m long and can be reached via the Lamsenhütte hut. The crux is a short passage in the upper part of the tour. However, it is well secured.
  • Buchau via ferrata: The 150m long Buchau via ferrata is scenically very beautiful and leads past the Dalfaz waterfall and ends on the hiking trail to the Dalfaz Alm hut. It takes about one hour.
  • Rofan via ferrata:The Rofan via ferrata is only 50m long, but steep and challenging. It’s perfectly applicable as training for longer via ferratas. It is also very popular for children.
