Sport climbing in the Achensee region – a great outdoor experience

Spending a holiday in the Achensee region is a unique experience: surrounded by the imposing Tirolean mountain world, you still feel like you’re on a beach holiday. Both climbers and mountain lovers will get their money’s worth. The area is stunningly beautiful and offers breathtaking impressions far beyond climbing. The area stays cool - even on hot summer days.

4 climbing gardens in the Achensee region for everyone

Aside from family-friendly climbing gardens, there are also several more challenging climbing gardens in the Achensee region.

  • Bärenkopf climbing garden: Bärenkopf is a small, newly developed climbing garden above the Lärchenwiese meadow in Maurach. The routes are moderately graded and therefore also recommended to less experienced climbers.
  • Chalet climbing garden:The Chalet climbing garden faces south and has some very interesting and rather steep routes. Due to the shade of the surrounding trees, you can also climb there on hot summer days.
  • Dreamland climbing garden/Lamsenspitze:The high alpine Dreamland climbing garden is located at the foot of the Lamsenspitze mountain peak. Some routes are up to 50m long. Above the climbing garden, there are several multi pitch routes.
  • Grauwand climbing garden: The Grauwand climbing garden is beautifully located under the Rofanseilbahn cable car. The 35 routes, all on sublime limestone, are up to 25m high. Due to its Southern direction, the routes can climbed all year around.
