3 tips for multi pitch routes in the Steinberge mountains

  • Central Steinplatte: The central Steinplatte area is very popular among the climber scene. The walls are up to 150m high and there are about 100 multi pitch routes ranging from grade 4 to 10. During the past years, many new routes were well equipped with bolts and old classic routes were refurbished. It’s best to climb between May to November.

It is located above the Strubtal valley on an altitude level of 1.000m. On the other side, you can see the 1.800m high Northern walls of the Loferer Steinberge mountains. It’s best to climb between May to November.
  • Brantl (Wieslochzapfen): The Brantl climbing garden on the Wiesloch mountain is a magnificent area with about 20 multi pitch routes. There are also easier routes such as the routes “Iltis” (South-Western ledge) und “Südostwandl”. It’s best to climb between May to October.
