Spending a holiday in the Achensee region is a unique experience: surrounded by the imposing Tirolean mountain world, you still feel like you’re on a beach holiday. Both climbers and mountain lovers will get their money’s worth. The area is stunningly beautiful and offers breathtaking impressions far beyond climbing. The area stays cool - even on hot summer days.

4 multi pitch routes in the Achensee region

  • Gramai climbing area: In the Gramai climbing area there are several well secured multi pitch routes with alpine characteristics. You can descend via abseiling on a 55m double rope. Be aware that there are wild animals above the climbing routes!
  • Klobenjoch: The Klobenjoch area provides numerous multi pitch routes in all difficulty levels. It is well known for its long routes in the 6th and 7th French difficulty grade. There are also several new hard sport climbing routes in the Eiskeller area.
  • Lamsenspitze: The multi pitch routes up to the Lamsenspitze mountain peak have recently been refurbished. However, you still should bring additional securing material. Underneath the multi pitches, there is the Dreamland climbing garden.
  • Rotspitz:The red Rotspitz wall is one of the most popular climbing areas in the Rofan mountains. The type of rock is limestone and is reminiscent of the Dolomites. Even though the routes are very steep, the difficulty grades are moderate. There are up to four pitches.
