The Multerkarwand crag is located at the foot of the Treffauer with beautiful water grooves and smooth rock faces. The section to the left offers beginners perfect conditions whereas, to the right, experienced climbers will find magnificent sport climbing routes of medium difficulty. There are also several multi-pitch climbs. On balmy summer evenings the crag is irresistible and climbers stay on till late in the evening. It’s also a popular climbing area in the autumn.
Follow trail no. 826 past the Wegscheid-Niederalm and Wegscheid-Hochalm to the intersection with the Wilder-Kaiser-Steig trail. Here to the right of the mountain pines it’s a steep climb across the moraine to the foot of the Treffauer rock face. Below the rock face cross to the left to access the entrances.
Heading from Wörgl, Kufstein or St. Johann on the B178 road, take the exit to Scheffau. Turn left immediately after the church, then drive past the Genussladl gourmet shop (located on the right-hand side) and keep going until you reach the public car park.
