Family-friendly climbing gardens in the Steinberge mountain area – a great trip for old and young!
The Steinberge mountain area in the Tirol-Salzburg border region offers great climbing opportunities, especially for climbers who love to spend their holidays on rock and get great value on their trip. The Loferer and Leogang Mountains have a lot to offer: from family-friendly climbing gardens, ten challenging via ferratas, more than 1.000 sport climbing routes and numerous alpine multi pitches. The route „Pinzgawurm“ (45 pitches) is one of the longest alpine sport climbing routes. There are several climbing guides and manuals which can help inform you about the area. The Steinberge Mountains for old and young climbers – 2 great tips
- Halser Grund climbing garden: This climbing garden is convenient for the whole family. The rock is only 8m high and therefore particularly recommended to children who go outdoor climbing for the first time. The routes are graded between 3 and 5. The rock is well secured for top rope climbing. The access hike only takes three minutes from the street for which reason the area is also recommended for shorter family trips.
- Wiesensee climbing garden: The Wiesensee climbing garden is very idyllic due to its location next to the little Wiesensee lake between St. Ulrich and Hochfilzen. It is recommended to the whole family as it is very well secured and the routes are relatively easy. There are 25 routes graded between 3 and 7. The access hike only takes three minutes.
