An artificial climbing sculpture in Kufstein

The Kufstein region, nestled in the Zahmen and Kaiser mountains, is the Eastern entrance to the Tirolean Alps. Among these mountains, climbers will discover amazing possibilities – with more than 40 routes in all difficulty levels. There are several family-friendly or more challenging climbing gardens, adventurous via ferratas, interesting multi pitch routes in the Sparchen climbing area, two climbing gyms as well as a climbing sculpture. If you prefer the more comfortable way, take the Kaiserlift cable car to get from Kufstein into the Kaiser mountains or hike through the idyllic Kaisertal valley. Besides climbing and hiking, there are many other possibilities for leisure activities: running and cycling, visiting the six natural lakes, canyoning and stand-up paddling to visiting top-class cultural events, culinary, traditional feasts and much more.

Climbing sculpture in Kufstein – a combination of art and climbing

The climbing sculpture next to the hydroelectric plant in Kufstein is a combination of art and climbing. It’s defined as art and shows the relationship between the Kaiser mountains and the hydroelectric plant at the Inn river. The sculpture is considered as one of the best outdoor climbing facilities in Austria: it provides 569m2 for lead climbing and 50m2 of bouldering. There are 40 routes between the fifth and ninth grade and a maximum height of 20m. The maximum length of the routes is 25m. The sculpture is both recommended to beginners and slightly advanced climbers. There is also a climbing tower particularly for children. The outdoor enclosure is freely accessible for everyone at any time of the day or week.
