Climbing Areas in Tirol...

Climbing in Tirol belongs to one of the most beautiful activities and western Austria offers uncountable climbing routes of all difficulties.  Classic climbs in alpine terrain, a perfectly situated climbing garden or fixed roped route, the adventure of bouldering or ice climbing are also great options just like the uncountable indoor attractions, climbing halls and climbing courses for beginers that are on offer.

At the moment the climbing platform Climbers Paradise are involved with 20 different tourist offices from the whole of Tirol.  Firstly, climbing was very popular in Ötztal, Imst-Gurgutal and later in Pitztal along with Nassereith, Mieminger Plateau, Telfs along with the Hohen Munde.  Following in the steps of these regions are Landeck, the climbing areas in Kauernertal tiroler Oberland, the Arlberg region, St. Anton along with Paznaun – Ischgl and not forgetting Tirol West with Starkenbach and the Burschlwand.   Not wanting to miss out the tourist regions of Reutte, Lechtal, the well known areas Zugspitz arena and Tannheimertal have also joined the climbing platform, also in Unterland, the climbing areas Achensee with Rofan or Alpbachtal.  The well known climbing destination Wilder Kaiser and Pillerseetal with the steinplatten not forgetting Osttirol with the Dolomiten have joined the Climbers Paradise group.  Actual new members are Zillertal along with ‘Ewigen Jagdgründen’ and Innsbruck with Matinswand and the Höttinger Steinbruch.

The project Climbers Paradise has step by step improved quality standards (especially of the fixed roped routes and climbing gardens).  The avaliable Information aims to be a help for planning a tour but shouldn’t in any case replace any touring planning or the individual reponsibility for participating in outdoor sports. What makes this sport so fascinating?  Climbing – a sport for extremists but also for beginners.  We are born to climb.  If you can asend a flight of stairs then you can also learn to climb in Tirol.  Climbing is healthy, fun and full of new experiences, and that for every age group!  It is our goal to publish all Information about the climbing infrastructure in Tirol, along with topography, directions to climbing areas, a rating system for climbs and just general information.

Whoever travels to Tirol to go climbing will also need accomodation, not any old accomodation but one that caters for climbers needs!  Even this point climbers paradise have challenged themselves with, making the search for a camping site, bed and breakfast or hotel easier. Because the enjoyment of climbing is double the fun when it  can be shared, climbers paradise has set up a community with a climber-blog and forum.  Here you can plan your tour, study topography, put your favourite photos online, write a daily climbing diary or inform your friends about climbing trips by writing a report!  We wish you all lots of fun and most importantly accident free climbing.
